Yesterday was a very birdy day. I even had some Rose-Breasted Grosbeaks visit my feeders! The Rose-Breasted Grosbeak did not want to share the feeder with a Cardinal. But, eventually he did.

The Bluebirds have grown a lot over the last 2 weeks. They are about ready to fledge.

In the past 3 days the Bluebirds have grown fur!
Mama Brown-Headed Nuthatch has tucked the babies in so I can’t see them as well.

Baby Brown-headed Nuthatches 2 days ago.

Today.

The baby Bluebirds 2 days ago. I could hardly tell how many babies are there!

Today I can see clearly that there are 4 baby Bluebirds!

I still do not know how many eggs are in the Bluebird’s box. Mama Bluebird is always in there when I peek in.

I finally have Bluebirds nesting in my Bluebird box!

And there are five Brown-Headed Nuthatch eggs in my other Bluebird box!

Ferd and I took a short drive on the Apache Trail into the Superstition Mountains. At the Tortilla Flats, we saw 3 life birds! We saw at least 3 Phainopeplas, a Gila Woodpecker and a Chihuahuan Raven!

The Gila Woodpecker uses the Saguaro cactus for nesting.

We were very lucky to see the Chihuahuan Raven’s white neck feathers which are infrequently displayed.

Three life birds in one day. Wow!
