The last of the Brown-Headed Nuthatches This is the last picture of the Brown-headed Nuthatches I took on May 6th before they fledged. Two days after that, they were gone.
Brown-headed Nuthatches – fully feathered I have Brown-headed Nuthatches nesting in my back yard. They are nesting in my Bluebird box. I added hinges to the top of the box for easy viewing. There were four eggs and only 2 survived. They are now 2 weeks old and are fully feathered.

Babies are hiding! I checked in on the Brown-headed hatchlings and they are covered up so I couldn’t get a good look at them. : ( We had Brown-headed Nuthatches nest in one of our bird boxes last year and they did the same thing by covering up their five babies.
